Eça de Queirós is my favourite portuguese author. I love how he writes, the way he looks into the human nature in the society.
I wanted to see the mexican movie El crimen del Padre Amaro (The crime of the priest Amaro), based on a Eça´s novel with the same name, for a long time. The film was very well recived, now I understand why. I´m just sorry I took so much time to see it, but better late than never...

Hi girl!!!! This is Luisa. Nice to see that you have a blog now and that I can mess around. I write in english so most of our friends can understand what I'm talking about. Although I have to say that Eca de queiros describes things in such detail that you loose the story part! I prefer Saramago has a twisted brain as mine so I can read everything without ending with a headache. I've been reading a lot in english and is worth it (unless you read james joyce or shakespear). I have to watch that movies too... don't forget to post in my blog too otherwise I go to Tavira to kick you behind :) kisses and hughs
i have seen the movie and it's not bad, but the novel is much better. Eça is a great writer.
